Electric Car . Guide

The one stop shop for drivers switching to electric

2020-2024

Electric Car . Guide is a one-stop shop for drivers making the switch to electric vehicles. It seeks to simplify the buying process, counter misconceptions, and to build a community of drivers.

Existing sources of information for drivers are not up to the task - this is because a lot of automotive media is created by drivers, for drivers. The very same drivers that have no experience with EVs. This creates an information chasm - one that Electric Car Guide tries to bridge.

By tapping into the data, case studies, and support from leading EV industry partners - Electric Car Guide acts as a rallying point for those wanting to make the switch, and those who seek to accelerate the transition.

Early stage high-fidelity concepts for brand development.

The Task

Develop a brand that can act as a one-stop shop for those interested in making the switch to EV, by providing tailored information to key audience groups in a manner that would counteract their bias, turning skeptics into considerers.

Use a network of influencers to create relatable case studies, produce intuitive guides to dispel misconceptions, and provide accurate information to aid users in making their decision.

The Solution

A people-focused brand was created - centred around a diverse network of advocates. Highly interactive guides are a critical component of the UI - allowing the user to explore topics, and seamlessly move from page to page, increasing user retention.

The site features a sales funnel including a Savings Calculator, allowing the user to calculate how much they would save by switching to an EV using their reg, and a Dealer Comparison Tool - simplifying the EV buying process by linking the user directly to brokers.

By combining people, information, and a means to purchase - Electric Car Guide acts as an ideal initial experience for those interested in EVs.
